Dr. Erica PhD, LCPC
Dr. Erica has been a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) by the state of Illinois licensing boards for more than 15 years. She has worked in a variety of settings across the state including as an on-call social worker at Kishwaukee Hospital, DeKalb County Jail in Sycamore, and Northern Illinois University (NIU) as a Staff Counselor. She has supervised graduate assistants, practicum, and doctoral interns. Specifically, providing individual and couples counseling, while also providing counseling for children birth to 3 years old with developmental disabilities and their families.
As a counselor, Dr. Erica provides each client with empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard so that they feel comfortable in discussing the current situation and how it affects their overall well-being. She has an integrative therapeutic approach that incorporates an exploration of your past relationships and how they may have impacted your current relationships. This style of therapy includes: being your sounding board or a reflection for you; providing space to explore thoughts, feelings, and actions; in order to elicit awareness or growth. She will encourage you to share areas of your life, such as physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social, as well as collaborate on desired outcomes. You can expect her to be an active listener with an open, accepting mind that will assist you to gain insight from your thoughts and feelings each session.
